Foot pedal faucet controllers allow you to control a faucet hands-free. These devices are efficient and hygienic — they are commonly found in commercial kitchens and hospitals. I’m not sure why we don’t see them in more homes. You can reduce water use by 50% using pedal controllers, and if it’s hot water, you’ll be saving power too.

“EcoPower” Faucet Recharges Itself

EcoPower FaucetThis EcoPower faucet by Toto is the type of faucet that uses a infrared sensor to turn on automatically. What makes this faucet unique is that it harnesses the electrical power generated by its own water flow. It has a miniature turbine generator to maintain its rechargeable battery. It can keep itself charged on as little as 5 uses a day. The faucets use less than 0.25 gallons per cycle.
