High-Wire Hemp Jacket by PatagoniaOver the years, Patagonia has been honing their use of effective materials in their clothing design. They make use of natural materials which allow the regulation of temperature and moisture — this is something that synthetic materials cannot reproduce.

Patagonia just introduced this climber’s jacket, which has an outer fabric made of a blend of 77% hemp and 23% PCR (post-consumer recycled) polyester. It’s tough, but also soft and packable. The interior is made of fleece scraps collected from the cutting-room floor and woven together to create insulation. We’d like to see less synthetic in this jacket but they are on the right track. The jacket is priced at $175. :: Patagonia
