New Adidas Hemp: Dakota Lo

dakota_adidas.jpgPerhaps due to the resurgence of interest in their hemp shoes, Adidas has introduced a new shoe called the “Dakota Lo Hemp”. This cranberry number is a reintroduction of the original Adidas basketball shoe from in the late 70s. It’s reasonably metaefficient in its construction — with hemp uppers and laces. We believe the sole is made of natural rubber (latex). The company has nearly elimated PVC in all its products and has reduced its use of VOCs in its glues. More information can be found on their corporate site. It appears the shoe is available only from the Adidas store for $55. Also in Flint/Bone.

I agree Christiaan, I wish the blackspot wasn’t so darn expensive though.

I wonder what the cost of production is?
