If a unit is damaged in shipping it could be loud (bent internal parts can make a loud sound when the machine is in use). There appears to be a major misunderstanding. We get almost 1/2 gallon of water out of each load. I spin for about 4 mins. until just drops come out of the spout. Towels took 20 min. before I turned the dryer to cool down. Jeans took 25 min., then cool down. I hung the jeans to air. I use a power strip with a switch--just switch it off and let it slow down a bit to save the brake. Saves over 1/2 of dryer time.
