I've had a pair of SR80's for years, and they still sound amazing. Anything else sounds flat or bright, or just odd. The major challenge is turning it down enough to listen to.

Basically you're buying the speakers: everything else is minimized and bland. They're a triumph of function over form, and if you like that sort of thing I highly recommend them.
