Living Color LED Lamp

Last year, Philips showed off their LivingColor lamps at a media event. Each compact light can illuminate 16 million unique colors, all of which can be controlled via an included wireless RF remote. You can set any remote to control up to six fixtures simultaneously, keeping their colors in synchronization for a dramatic effect. Since it uses some seriously bright LEDs, Philips designed a special heat sink into the lamp that looks more like a work of art than a technical necessity.

Available from Amazon.

Justin, I hadn’t heard of these lamps before. The concept sounds neat and of course lighting innovator Philips is behind the technology, but do you see a wide residential market? Sounds like it would work great in a room with vaulted ceilings, whereas smaller rooms would be more efficiently lit with simple LED or CFL bulbs.

Before rushing out to buy for US use remember that the UK uses a different voltage (240v), frequency (50 HZ), and plugs (three square pin).
