Use An Ozone Generator To Purify Your Air and Water Inexpensively

One of the simplest and most inexpensive ways to purify water is to bubble ozone through it. Ozone is a molecule made of three oxygen atoms ( O₃₎. It disinfects water very effectively, through a process called oxidation. Ozone ruptures the cellular structure of organisms, killing them. It also oxides toxic organic chemicals, minerals and metals by reducing them to their insoluble form, so that they can be filtered out. This means it neutralizes most of the compounds that cause odor and off-tastes. Basically, essential oils are great disinfectants, and they are also healthy to inhale. They have other beneficial effects on the body and mind. Surround yourself with Eucalyptus during the winter for example, to kill airborne microorganisms. The most efficient way of dispersing an essential oil is to use a nebulizer. Burners and other diffusion methods do not create super-fine particles of the oil. There’s a much greater chance of these particles coming into contact with mold spores, germs, and other airborne bacteria.

Metaeffective Tea: Rooibos Red Tea

Rooibos (pronounced “roy-boss”) is a red tea grown the mountainous Cedarberg area north of Cape Town in South Africa.

During the summer months the Rooibos plants are harvested, fermented and dried in the sun. The sun induces the change from verdant green to the mahogany red of Rooibos tea.

The slightly sweet tea is free of caffeine and is low in tannin which inhibits absorption of minerals, and is often used during breastfeeding to supplement iron levels.

Lately, Rooibos has been the subject of many scientific studies in Japan and South Africa. Researchers in Japan are studying the effects of the oligosaccharides in Rooibos, and have discovered that these compounds may aid the immune system in fighting viral infections. Other studies have shown that the tea relieves insomnia, nervous tension, mild depression, stomach cramps (including colic), constipation, and allergic symptoms (even those caused by hay fever and asthma).

Rooibos is available from gourmet supermarkets and health food stores.
