Vigilus is an efficient mountain resort located in Südtirol, Northern Italy. It is reachable only by cable car. The resort was made with the ideal of an “organic architecture” — architecture integrated with the existing natural elements. All rooms outfitted with a clay partition wall, which stores warmth and moderates the room climate. The Vigilius mountain resort is stoked by a biomass plant and is allegedly CO2 neutral. Existing elements, such as wooden structural members from a 300 year old barn, were integrated into the building. Rooms start at about $265 U.S. dollars.
