A company called M2E Power has announced plans today to release a charger that will powered by kinetic motion. The released date is expected to be next summer. The charger derives power from the motion of walking, jogging, cycling, or driving. Six hours of motion provides 30 to 60 minutes of charging power. It will be priced between $25 and $40.
The kinetic energy system uses the Faraday Effect – a magnet moves against a coil every time the charger moves, generating a charge that is captured in a capacitor. A logic circuit takes the charge to the built-in lithium-ion battery, where it is stored until needed.
On a larger scale, M2E hopes to use kinetic energy to enhance wind, hydropower, and tidal power efficiency.

This sounds like science fiction, but if it’s real I would pick one up.
When your being conned, your spoken to with carefully chosen words. Words like “Six hours of motion provides 30 to 60 minutes of charging power.” Can anyone the me how much power is produced after 6 hours???? I don’t know if the “power” will be of any use because in spite of being very specific that it will produce power, they did not give the amount produced. The article gives incomplete information, making it useless to evaluate the product. I can only conclude the secret they keep, they don’t want us to know. I’m sorry, I’m not buying it. SS
I’ve seen kinetic motion flashlights. While I’d love to see this charger be added to my camping kit, those people who want a kinetic motion gadget right now can go out and get at $9 flashlight. The flashlights may not be the brightest on the market, but they last and last and last.
That’s what is called invention. Even though writer didn’t say how much power is produced after 6 hrs of motion, the look of the gadget implies that it’s of some work. And if were totally useless, why would some company make it when they won’t be able to sell it?
