This is a nice children’s headlamp for about $18. We like it because it uses three bright, energy-efficient LEDs. So the batteries will last hundreds of hours. It has three settings: high, low and flash. Available at Amazon. See also this similar headlamp from Amazon.
Rayovac I-C3 NiMH Chargers and Batteries

Rayovac has released a new line of NiMH batteries called "I-C3" which charge in 15 minutes. Based own experience, these batteries do live up to their claim and recharge in 15 minutes and are very long lasting.
