Was this independently reviewed and rated? When I read:
“But Boeing’s newest passenger jet, the 787 Dreamliner, – “aims to” – take a big efficiency step forward”, I wonder if this is marketing or fact?

Presumably a lighter aircraft means less power to get it off the ground, so hopefully this plane is much quieter as well

It seems that maximizing the aerodynamic of the 787 also enhanced its aesthetics. The pointed cone shape of the jet engine’s fan really looks good. I hope they can continue redesigning the 787 and perhaps make it look as good as the Concorde.
